FKK – these three letters stand for Free Body Culture (German: Frei Körper Kultur), as well as nudism or naturism. This movement dates back to the turn of the 20th century and was initially a reaction to increasingly cramped urban living conditions. Today, nudism has become more popular than ever. Anyone who thinks they need to travel to Sylt (the largest of the Frisian Islands in the North Sea off the coast of Germany, the "Mecca" of German nudism) is mistaken. Opportunities for nudism exist everywhere. In fact, virtually all major German cities offer cozy, secluded spots for nudists and those who want to become one – for everything from a family picnic to a boisterous group of friends to an intimate, one-on-one getaway. Bonus materials: excerpts from stories and scenes, a historical description of FKK Neusonnland (Neusonnland was a nudist society in Germany in the 1920s; the name in German sounds like the expression "New Land of the Sun"), the FKK Top 10, the FKK movement is writing history.
